Any rounders out there???  please give some feedback...  I love this game & only hope to get better/smarter everyday.

This is not a game of luck or chance, this is a skill game, in every way.  and just like every sport or competition in the world today... "Champs have open minds, they are sure (100% positive) that they don't know everything and never will.

Because, He who thinks Himself Wise & All knowing... Stops Learning... Starts Slippin, & Eventually Stops Growing!  That is when the Slippin Starts Showing.

Poker tips / You flop a nut flush... and Check the whole way... or Do you?
« on: September 05, 2008, 08:49:30 PM »
Everyone knows how to slow play.  But I like to also add a little bit extra twist when I flop the nuts.

I like to check and hopefully get the table to make a small bet, or if they all check around to the turn, I make a wager that doesn't have any confidence behind it.

(I also try to bait the table early, when I have a hand I am planning on folding anyway, I make a week bet to make it look like I'm trying to steel it, and let them take me down with a simple re-raise)

So later when I have the nuts, I can do it again, except this time I re-raise back at him.  Not all-in though...

I still want to look week, and make it seem I am still trying to steel the pot, so just enough to get them to call and hopefully make their pair, or hit their trips.  Doesn't matter, as long as I don't see a possible boat, or a bunch of runners I know I am safe to go all in.

And the beautiful part, now I was able to go all in, but pushed those chips looking like a desperate man on his way home.  Not like a guy who flopped the nuts.

Poker tips / Re: Best Play w/ Pocket Bullets (Call or Raise) Before the Flop

Personally I check/call before the flop, I have seen Pocket Aces drain chip stacks to many times.  It is a strong pair (the strongest) but it still just a pair.

My opinion... Wait to see the flop, and of course see how the table bets, look at all the possible ways you could loose.  if you see a pair on the board and someone with a decent chip stack bets heavy on the turn, think before you call/raise.

If you haven't improved your hand before that last river card is dealt, do not go all in.  I'm not saying fold...

I'm just saying Rule #1 is the most important rule of rounding, in my opinion...

Rule #1: Always leave yourself outs...
